The badger is a carnivorous animal belonging to the marten family. It is also known as the ‘Grimbart’ in German folklore and especially in fables.<br><br>The badger likes to settle in wooded areas with lots of undergrowth, where it usually digs its large sett into a hill. It is not uncommon for the badger to share its sett with other inhabitants, such as the fox.<br><br>Depending on the season, its diet includes both animal and plant-based food. It mainly eats worms, but also insects, small mammals, crops and berries.
